A perfect mix, where everyone can relax without having to give up on anything. So, which are the most popular destinations this summer? According to the latest survey of the travel search engine momondo.it, the cities of art par excellence such as Rome, Venice and Florence are in the 2018 in top 10, while Sardinia and Campania are among the preferred regions to visit, with their cities Alghero and Cagliari (5th and 8th place) and Naples and Positano (7th and 9th place).
Rome is the queen of Italy. An open-air museum where you can walk immersed in history and experience unique excursions and events of all kinds, which will leave you with incredible memories. Its local gastronomy, with its tasty flavours, will satisfy any palate. The capital remains on top of the list as a favourite destination for foreign tourists who want to enjoy the “dolce vita” that this city has to offer.
The survey also took into consideration the average price of a hotel for the top 10 destinations and the pearl of the Amalfi Coast was the most expensive destination, with an average nightly rate of € 307, followed by Alghero (€ 169). For foreigners looking for a cheaper vacation the choice fell on Palermo, only € 66 per night, followed by Rimini (€ 69), Milan (€ 93) and Rome (€ 99).
